A Thyroid-Boosting Juice Anyone With Inflammation or Hormone Imbalance Should Drink Once per Week

The thyroid gland is an endocrine gland located at the base of your neck.

It is responsible for producing and releasing hormones which keep your metabolism under control and regulate different body functions, including body temperature, body weight, skin integrity, heart rate, breathing, cholesterol levels, muscle strength, menstrual cycle, and central and peripheral nervous system.

How the Thyroid Gland Works

It is well known that the thyroid is a component of the endocrine system. This system consists of glands responsible for producing, storing, and releasing hormones in the blood, allowing them to reach the cells in our body.

This gland uses iodine from food sources in order to produce Triiodothyronine (T3) and Thyroxine (T4).

The hypothalamus is responsible for producing TSH, a hormone which signals the pituitary to tell the thyroid to produce less or more of T3 and T4. To put it simply, it maintains a balance between T3 and T4.

Therefore, when there are low levels of T3 and T4 in the blood, the pituitary gland produces more THS in order to stimulate the production of more thyroid hormones.

If there are high levels in the blood, the pituitary gland releases TSH to the thyroid, which in turn slows down the production of thyroid hormones.

Hypothyroidism is one of the most common thyroid conditions. It occurs as a result from too little T3 and T4 in the body. The main symptoms of Hypothyroidism are:

  • Depression
  • Sleep disorders
  • Joint pain
  • Dry skin and hair
  • Sensitivity to cold temperature
  • Frequent, heavy periods
  • Tiredness and fatigue

Hyperthyroidism, on the other hand, is another common condition which occurs as a result from an overactive thyroid. The main symptoms include:

  • Hair loss
  • Anxiety
  • Irritability or moodiness
  • Hand trembling
  • Missed or light menstrual periods
  • Nervousness, hyperactivity
  • Sweating or sensitivity to high temperatures

When it comes to treating hyperthyroidism, most people are recommended to use medications, oral radioactive iodine, and surgery.

In most cases, these treatments are not very beneficial since it can be extremely difficult to target the thyroid. What is more, they can increase the risk of secreting improper amounts of some hormones and reduce the function of the thyroid.

Fortunately, we have a natural remedy that will help to nourish your thyroid and boost its function.

How Will This Recipe Help Your Thyroid?

Cranberries contain iodine, a mineral essential for thyroid function. The fact that thyroid hormones are made up of iodine, indicates how important this mineral is for optimal thyroid health.

Vitamin C found in lemon and antioxidants found in orange juice can improve the function of your thyroid.

Ginger is a good source of magnesium, a mineral that has the ability to effectively regulate thyroid disorders.

Cinnamon has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and can reduce the risk of hypothyroidism.
