DIET SODA`S WORST FEAR THAT IS COMING TRUE: MASSIVE STUDY LINKS ASPARTAME TO MAJOR PROBLEMS

As concerns that consumption of diet soda have plunged as consumers are trying to make better choices. As reported, aspartame -the main sweetener for diet soda- is the most dangerous ingredient used in food supply and it is causing seizures and also is host of other health issues.

Study done over ten years and which was sampling 60,000 women, has shown that women that drink two or more diet drinks daily have much higher cardiovascular disease rates and more prone to die from the disease.

30 % MORE LIKELY TO HAVE A HEART PROBLEMS…

In the largest study of this type was concluded:

Compared to women that never or rarely consumed diet drinks, ones who consume two or more a day are 30 % more likely to get cardiovascular  disease or heart attack or stroke, and 50% percent more likely to die from related disease.

Findings are consistent with previous data, particularly those that are linking diet drinks to metabolic syndrome. Association persisted even after researchers adjusted the data to demographic characteristics and as well, other cardiovascular risk factors (body mass index, hormone therapy, smoking, physical activity, energy or salt intake, hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol and sugar-sweetened beverage intake)

Women that consumed two or more diet drinks when they were younger, more likely to be smokers, they had a higher prevalence of diabetes, higher body mass index, high blood pressure.

SODA SALES SLIPPING

This study comes on reports of already slipping sales of diet soda- one of largest aspartame markets.

Time Magazine wrote:

Reason for decline could be growing awareness of obesity epidemic in US and also growing health concerns around sugar-sweetened beverages. According to Reuters, industry experts note that beverage industry is shrinking under scrutiny. Also diet-branded drinks have a loss of sales with concerns over their artificial sweeteners. No matter the reason is for the decline, new study should add fuel to moving away from artificial sweeteners. Natural sweeteners that people can choose, can be used and they are much healthier than aspartame.

Important note is overall sales of soda going down means less people are being exposed to high fructose corn syrup that carries a whole host of health risks as well.
